Jury Nullification
Dear Editor,
I would like to ask you to read the following. "That government being instituted for the common benefit, the doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power and oppression is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind".
You have just read Article 1 Section 2 of the Tennessee Constitution. As citizens how do we legally stand against arbitrary power, corrupt laws, oppression and unconstitutional laws? When selected as a juror we have a duty to administer justice, not to enforce government inspired oppression or simply and thoughtlessly administer punishment to our neighbors.
Our own state constitution in Article 1 Section 19 directs that as jurors we "shall have the right to determine the law and the facts". Many of our countless laws are enforced in ways that our legislators never imagined or intended. It is up to us as jurors to administer justice sometimes in spite of oppressive or arbitrary laws. No one has the power to question, overturn, or condemn your vote as a juror. Many unconstitutional laws are never challenged because the accused or prosecuted don't have the financial ability to effectively defend themselves. In America we have a greater percentage of our population in prison than any other country in the civilized world. Are the American people really that criminal? I think not.
We have the constitutional power and the duty to protect our neighbor from oppressive arbitrary power. Why does the Constitution Party acknowledge and embrace jury nullification? Because it is constitutional law, and it was written into our constitution for a purpose. That purpose is to give us a legal last line of defense against tyranny. The Price we will Pay is our Freedom
Dear Editor,
For decades both major political parties have refused to uphold our constitution, to protect our borders, to stop generational theft, or protect the lives of the unborn. Both Major Parties have squandered our heritage, threatened our liberty, waged unconstitutional wars and violated our bill of rights that they are sworn to protect. The terrible price we will pay for reelecting those who violate our constitution is our freedom.
For the past 80 years government has grown larger and more intrusive through every single administration, both Republican and Democrat. In reality we have two parties of big government and they are hardly distinguishable from each other. To restore America we must return to constitutional government and our founding principles. It is time that we, who love our country, abandon both major parties that have so clearly failed us. The Constitution Party is driven by its membership, not by politicians, and is dedicated to life, liberty, and constitutionally limited government. Reading the seven principles and the party platform is like a breath of fresh air. You can read these at www.constitutionpartyoftennessee.com. The Constitution Party is the third largest and fastest growing political party in America and we're organizing county by county in Tennessee. It is time that we do what we wish our elected would do, vote principles over politics. One thing is for sure, if we keep doing what we've been doing, we'll keep getting what we've been getting. Become part of the Constitution Party and become part of our effort to restore America.

Purpose of the Constitution of the United States of America
Dear Editor,
The sole purpose of our constitution is to restrict government and protect our freedom. Both of our major political parties are violating our constitution and have been for decades. It has become clear that the checks and balances of our two party system have failed and our federal government is in a state of lawlessness. Witnessed by our President's decision that our immigration laws would not be enforced our President has granted himself the power to determine which laws will be enforced and which laws will not be enforced. By granting exemptions to Obama Care he has also granted himself the power to determine who is required to abide by our laws and who is not. By randomly deciding to delay the enforcement of certain provisions of Obama Care he has granted himself the power to determine when our laws are in effect and when they are not. However the great failure is that of the opposition party, if there indeed is one, to do anything to oppose this dangerous power grab. This unconstitutional usurpation of power puts the enforcement of our laws subject to the whims of our President and renders our Congress largely irrelevant, literally leaving America a failed republic. If our republic is to survive we must abandon this failed two party / one party system that no longer holds anyone in government accountable. Even openly acknowledged crimes against the American people go completely unaddressed, other than the usual lip service. Both of our major political parties, if in reality there are two, are so outrageously lawless and corrupt another party is the only solution we have If we are to restore our republic and rule of law in America. A third party structured to hold their elected accountable to our constitution exists. It's the Constitution Party and it appears to be our best and possibly our only solution to restoring rule of law in America and saving our republic.
